Windsor is our first micropub, which Dave, Naomi and Jason – the original founders of A Hoppy Place opened in August 2019.
It is twice SWM Camra Pub Of The Year, in 2021 and 2022. It also won us the SIBA Craft Beer Retailer of the Year award for a single outlet in 2021 – in recognition of our online selling and lockdown beery drinkalongs.
Alongside 11 keg lines, are two rotating cask and 5 real ciders. We accept CAMRA membership cards for 10% off the cask ale.

Just under three years since opening in Windsor, Maidenhead was opened to an actual queue of thirsty locals in June 2022…
Dave and Naomi’s hometown of Maidenhead has, in our humble opinion – needed something like us for quite a while.
Maidenhead offers 14 keg lines, three rotating cask and a permanent Stardust line – them being our nearest local brewery. Once again, we accept CAMRA membership cards for 10% off the cask ale.
This place is pretty damned cool – even if we do say so ourselves.

A Hoppy Place was founded by Dave and Naomi Hayward, a husband and wife team who can genuinely say their wedding was a beer festival.
And since our bar was conceived, we’ve brought on board a load of likeminded beer (and wine, cider and craft spirits!) nutters. We wouldn’t be anywhere without them.

Whilst exploring Southern California’s stunning Route 1 coastline back in May 2018 for their Honeymoon, Dave and Naomi – co owners of A Hoppy Place, had a stark realisation. The differences in the way beer is sold in the USA and the UK could not have been plainer.
In Southern California, we found that nearly every bar had 20 or more independantly owned beers. A shock to those of us that thought America was all Budweiser.
When we got home, and popped back to our local, we started to think. We want to experience that here.
So we started A Hoppy Place.
A Hoppy Place is a family run, craft beer establishment – aiming to bring you the most exciting local and international craft beer, wine and spirits.
We are by design fiercely independent and completely free of tie. This means we can stock any of the 2000+ breweries in this country. Not just the 6 or so you see in 90% of the country’s pubs.
In August 2019 we opened our doors of site 1. Windsor.
Nestled within 5 minutes of Windsor Castle on the Queens Walk (Marker 25), you’ll find our bottle shop and tasting room.
We had 5 months of normal trading, and then a global pandemic happened.
But that didn’t stop us. We set up a website (This site!), sold beer online, set up digital beer events, and kept our community together. In fact, through lockdown we recorded growth.
These feats were recognised. We won our local branch pub of the year in 2021 and again in 2022. We were also awarded SIBA’s UK Craft Beer Retailer of the Year for 2021.
We’re pretty proud of what we do.
And the spaces we’ve created.
Now there are two Hoppy Places – and they have a lot in common. Both sites will always be welcoming – to everyone. Serving all drinks, and all people: So long as they follow the very simple mantra: Don’t be a Dick.
See you very soon!
