In August 2019, A Hoppy Place opened our doors for the first time.
4 years of planning between Naomi and Dave led to our little bottleshop and tasting road on St Leonards Road opening its doors to an amazing reception.
And now, some time later, we turn 5 years old.
5. Years. Old…
Since getting the keys we’ve seen 5 prime ministers, we’ve opened a second site in Maidenhead, and we became friends with our future business partners – Alex and Ally, who we’ve now also opened a brewery with.
We hired our brother Jason. We hired regular drinkers, and we’ve grown across both businesses from 2 people that wanted to make their passion their livelihood, to a team 10 strong.
The majority of startups fail in the first 4 years. And those stats don’t take COVID into account.
We’ve outlived the lettuce that outlived a leader. We’ve survived the pandemic. We’ve survived the energy crisis. We’ve seen thousands of good businesses close. But we’re still here, and we owe it all to you, our wonderful supporters. What sets us apart is you.
So let’s party.

On Friday August 2nd, we’ll be partying hard at OG Hoppy – AHP Windsor.
Dave, Naomi, Jason and Simcoe will be in Windsor to celebrate the site where it all began. We’ve put an exclusive goody bag together to commemorate our birthday. There’ll be unique swag in there and whisper perhaps even a Unique untappd checkin opportunity. You also get your first beer thrown in.
And on Saturday August 3rd we’ll be hairing the dog, and going again. With a big party in Maidenhead.
Naturally, we’d love you to join us for both. Or choose your site. The OG, or the expansion? You decide?
There’ll be a uniquely hoppy playlist. There’ll be a showcase of special beers from Berkshire, the UK and beyond. There’ll likely be hugs. It’ll be emotional.
