During Andrew Cooper’s (nomen omen) travels in Australia for GABS 2017 he stopped at Nomad for a collaboration beer with us. We wanted it to be a very special one and since good things come to those who wait we let this beer rest in Australian Shiraz barrels from Mudgee for over a year.
Halfway through the barrel aging we cultured and propagated Somerset grape wild yeast from bottles of Squashed Grape, one of Andrew’s creations – a beer that brings wine and beer together. This beer goes even deeper, two brewers from opposite hemispheres create a beer homaging wine, using wild yeast from grape skins from far far away and aging it in wine barrels we personally sourced and picked up from Mudgee.
